20ft High Cube Open Top Container – One Trip, Removable Roof

20ft High Cube Open Top Container — Built for Oversized and Awkward Loads

Our 20ft HC Open Top Container gives you the strength and security of a standard high cube steel container, with one key difference: the solid steel roof is replaced by a reinforced weatherproof tarpaulin secured over removable roof bows. That means cargo can be loaded and unloaded vertically by crane or forklift, rather than being restricted to the standard rear doors — ideal when you’re moving machinery, plant equipment, building materials, or anything too tall or awkward for a conventional container.

Because it’s a high cube unit, you get an extra 30cm (roughly 1ft) of internal height over a standard open top container, giving you more clearance for taller loads and easier stacking of goods inside.

Key features:

• Removable roof bows and heavy-duty weatherproof tarpaulin (securable with rope or TIR cable)
• Swing-out or removable door header for easier top and rear access
• Interior lashing rings to secure cargo during transit
• Standard ISO twist-lock corner castings for stacking and secure lifting
• CSC plated for international freight compliance

Common uses: plant and machinery transport, construction site logistics, oversized freight, export shipments requiring top-loading, and temporary secure storage for tall equipment.

Note: If your load exceeds the container’s height even with the roof removed, a flat rack container (no roof or sides) may be more suitable — see our flat rack container range.
